Question of the Day: Are Warrenties a Waste of Money?

I just realized it has been a while since I last posted. Time flies when you're having ... fun? Actually, things are going better. Most of my frustrating issues are still there, but I'm learning how to deal with them and getting more used to this transition. Jeremy's apartment is feeling more like home. I even broke in his new microfiber furniture last night by spilling tea all over the chair. He said not to worry because he got everything Scotch Guarded and bought all kinds of warrenties and insurance and razzamatazz when he purchased the furniture. I usually view those kinds of things as a way for companies to make a little extra money off of me - the poor, vulnerable consumer. Jeremy, on the other hand, gets excited about warrenties and insurance and smooth-talkin' salesmen. Well, it's a good thing because the Scotch Guard worked and it looks like my tea left no trace on the chair. Whew!

I had a job interview with the Mental Health Association on Tuesday for a position working with children and adolescents. Jared Smith works for the MHA and introduced me to that position. Today, I have an interview with Sherwin Williams. Yeah, the paint store. Sarah found a want ad in the classifieds so I applied. On Tuesday, when I opened up a checking account at Commerce Bank here in Wichita, the banker told me Commerce had teller positions available and I didn't need to have any prior experience. Hey, I'm keeping my options open right now.

Kristine's in the area for a few days. On Friday, we (I don't really know who all "we" will include) are eating at the Bread Basket in Newton. Oh boy, I should probably start fasting tonight in preparation for a big German/Russian Menno meal tomorrow.
