ShopKo

Sigh ... I just finished my fourth day of part time seasonal work at ShopKo. After the first day I wondered how I would ever make it, but now I am getting the hang of things. Basically, I just have to tell people where they can find items (which is tricky because half the time I have no clue) and straighten up the aisles. Today, an older couple asked me if we had any of those Dutch shortbread cookies that come in a tin. We looked all over the food aisles and the seasonal Christmas aisles and found no shortbread cookies in a tin. About ten minutes later I was walking around the pharmacy area and I found a display of cashews and those crazy shortbread cookies. I gasped, picked up a tin, and scurried around the store looking for the couple. I finally found them on their way out and saved the day. Yeah, Amber Schrag - hometown hero.

Yesterday I worked for three hours with Scott folding and refolding the three towel aisles. Talk about tedious. Today I helped Adam, build two treadmills for a display. That was a little different and fun. Maybe this job won't be so bad, but when I work at the museum all day and then hit up ShopKo till 10:45 pm it ... sure makes ... me ... ... ti...r...e...d ... ...zzz...
