Congratulations Shelly and Jon!

This past summer Shelly (an ex-roommate) and Jon scooted by my apartment on their roller blades to throw rocks at my patio door and tell me they were engaged. Last Saturday I went to their wedding with Dawn and Amanda. I didn’t really know anyone else at the wedding very well, but I still had a delightful time.

The DJ at the reception/dance made Dawn and me chuckle. I would compare his voice to that of a game show announcer. When the wedding party came in to the reception hall to sit down, he called off their names as they walked in – reminded me a lot of “The Price is Right.” During the meal, I am not even sure what he said, but he made several other announcements. Dawn thought he sounded like a circus announcer and a great idea popped into my head. Would it not be the most exciting thing ever to have a circus at your wedding? People could hit the dance floor OR watch some tigers do tricks. Yeah, if I get married I think there will have to be a little circus, even if it’s just some neighborhood dogs running around in elephant costumes and a clown.
