Today was the opening of the new Ancient Near East exhibit at the museum. I am so relieved it is done! We had a little opening with some speeches, mingling, and hummus (get it, Near East = hummus). The exhibit really came together well and it was exciting to see people actually reading, using, and enjoying this thing I designed.
I feel like I have been doing a lot of construction work in the last month ... and I'm glad it's not my full time job. For the exhibit, staff and volunteers helped me build some walls and some cases. We mudded and sanded sheetrock, painted, and assembled things. At home, Jeremy and I have been remodeling two of our bathrooms. We combined them into one and completely stripped the interiors so while I was constructing walls at work, I was destroying them at home; kind of a weird feeling. We got this 10% off coupon for Lowe's so we decided to buy everything at once for the bathroom so we could get the most use out of the coupon. It was fun to go through the store and pick out everything, but it took many hours. I was so tired and thirsty when it was over.
Adam, Jeremy's brother stayed with us last week to put up the walls, ceiling, and tile the floor and walls. It looks awesome. I can't wait to use it. The new bathroom will totally trump the bathroom in our bedroom, which used to be the best one.
I'll have to post some pictures when I am at home near my camera.

Sounds like a fun project! Will the bathroom retain the original entrances (i.e., will it have two ways to get in?)? I'm assuming the bathrooms being combined are the one off the hall and the one off the kitchen... Would love to see pictures!
Actually, the two bathrooms with a combined 3 entrances were pared down to 1 bathroom with 1 entrance. It looks really good. I'll post some pics soon.
