Books

I just finished reading a real non-fiction page turner. Panic in Level 4 by Richard Preston is a great read, especially if you are interested in science news. Preston comes off quite self-important in his introduction and that made me apprehensive about reading the rest of the book, but it turned out to be very interesting and fairly well written.

I miss my book club from Sioux Falls. Now that I am done with school I want to join another, but I do not have any leads. I asked a librarian at the Abilene public library if she knows of any and she said a group of ladies come in every month and all try to check out the same book. She figured they were in a book club. I left my contact info so hopefully someone will give me a call. What a shot in the dark - this could get interesting.

Just how large is the Abilene library if it can supply members of a whole group with the same book?

p.s. great captcha this time: aahmaa

The library's not that large. I think maybe only one person gets the book at a time and it's a mad race to be the first to the library to check it out.

Captcha, is that what those weirdly shaped verification letters are called?

1. That doesn't sound like a very effective way to run a book club. Well, I guess maybe the first person gets to check it out and the rest of them have to buy it? That's sort of funny.

2. Yep.
