An honor that is freaking me out

Last week I got this strange voicemail from Connie, who is a reporter from the WSU alumni magazine, "The Shocker." She got my name from the anthropology department chair and wanted to do a story on my research at Uxbenka in Belize. I was kind of taken aback and didn't really believe she wanted to feature only my research. Actually, she wanted to do a follow up on Keith's (my advisor) canoe find. I had to break it to her that it probably was not a canoe. Then she wanted to do most of the story about what I did at Uxbenka. Well, we had an interview yesterday and Connie said she hoped to do a 4-6 page story about what I found at lil' old Settlement Group 21. Crazy. This is quite an honor, but at the same I am not sure if my research is all that exciting at the moment. She is a reporter, I am sure she will make it scintillating. I told her I was going to defend my thesis April 4. Now it will be in print and I really have to do it. AHHHHH!!
