Struck down again
I think I got food poisoning again! Two times in the last four months is a bad track record. Sunday night I ate at a United Nations banquet at a local restaurant. About three hours later I was in a lot of pain. It surely felt like food poisoning to me, but maybe I have some sort of stomach flu/bug. At the end of last week I had a piece of cheesecake one day and a bowl of Freddy's Frozen custard another day. After both cases of rich heavy food I got a mild upset stomach. On Sunday I did not have anything at the banquet that was that rich so I'm not finding much consistency. This is all very strange and I am starting to fear I have some sort of new food allergy or a type of lactose intolerance that does not include nonfat yogurt and skim milk. I should probably see a gastro-intestinal specialist about this, but alas I have student health insurance. I might have to figure this one out on my own.

For a long time I was consistently getting an upset stomach from meals where I could find no consistencies. Actually, for a while, I was afraid I became allergic to fresh pineapple because that was the only link I could find between The Breadbasket, Applebee's, and a Chinese buffet. Maybe I am allergic to fresh pineapple -- I haven't had any since, but I still kept feeling sick after eating. I lived on PeptoBismal and later Pepcid AC for about a year. All seems to have returned to normal now though.
Those boys know what they're talking about (Brian sort of introduced it to me as well..."sort of" because I know my mom used it in spaghetti sauce and such, but I did not know of its good taste by itself).
I'm sympathizing with you Ber...my GI troubles have gotten so bad that my doc here in Socorro is referring me to a specialist up in Rio Rancho. Everyone with a medical degree around here thinks I need to get my stomach scoped. Yuck. Oh well. Could be worse. Could be colon...
I blame homeownership. That gives everyone an ulcer sooner or later, right?
