Tired of the News
I'm really getting tired of watching CNN at the fitness center. Why can't they have the TV on the channel that shows Jeopardy! or the Simpsons or something? CNN and all those other news programs and stations (can't just judge CNN) run the "news" into the ground. I am so done listening about what is going on in Iraq or Iran, the Mexican-US border, and where Anna Nicole is going to be buried. Maybe being too knowledgeable about what is going on in the world is not good for me. I start to overanalyze it all and develop strong opinions based on information that has been filtered through the media. Are my developed opinions really worth keeping or do they just cause me unwanted internal and external conflict? See what this does to me? Yuck. Spring weather should get here as soon as possible so I can start running and biking outside again where there is no CNN.

Does your fitness place only show one channel? I think mine shows five. But often enough there's not something on that I'm interested in, so I've switched almost exclusively to listening to my ipod. Even when it's only me and one other person in there (so I could easily switch one, two, maybe even three of the tvs to something I'd want), I tend to just stick to music. I find I need to be distracted almost the whole time I'm working out, so I can't stand commercials, and this is another reason I do music. The other night it was just me and one other person in there, and both of us must have just been too lazy to change any channels. I was listening to my ipod, but I kept being drawn into watching (not listening to) this Spanish soap opera thing. A lady was dying with a horribly-acted pained face for seriously 35 minutes. It was painful. And, wow, this comment got long.
Plus, some form of FOX news always seems to be on. Ick.
Hey Schrag...I was thinking the exact thing last night when the only 2 tvs in my view were Anna Nicole coverage. But then again I used to like ET too and that's all that is anymore too. Anyway, hope everythings going well. Nothing much new here to speak of. Check ya later!
