New Bike

I got a new bike today. I am pretty excited because it is the nicest bike I have ever had and it actually fits my body. Usually, I end up riding bikes that are too big for me and it isn't comfortable. The weather here has been very nice lately so hopefully I will get some riding in this week.

Now that you have your bike, we can rig up that little fishin' pole with the mixed drink hanging in front of you to motivate you to ride. Oh wait...that's me...

Did you and Javers make it through all the hailstorms ok? It didn't really hit Newton, but Wichita looked pretty red on the ol' Dopplar TruView SuperCool Snazzy Radar.

Sarah, you riding a bike with a mixed drink hanging in front of you is one of those images that will always make me chuckle. I revert to it when I'm down in the muck.

Yes, the hail. The 3-D VIPIR rotation. The red and orange on the Dopplar Truview Radar. It was kind of nasty on Monday. I noticed only one shallow hail dent on the roof of my car (good thing I don't have a lamburghini - how the hell do you spell that? - or some other expensive car). Javers said the old T-Rus had a dent or two too, but nothing major. Mostly it was just loud.

I hope you had a good time in NM.

Sorry, Ern, I tried to reply to you earlier, but I guess it didn't get published. In response to your question, I got a Trek 4300. Even though I probably will not be riding much on mountain trails, I got a mountain bike because they are so much more versatile than road bikes or even hybrids. The Specialized hybrid I test rode, however, was very comfortable - lots of shock absorbers and a soft seat.

cool. very exciting. i'm thinking seriously about applying my tax return toward a bike. i'm interested in more of a touring style or some sort of racing-ish style, but with a wider wheel base. i'll have to see how the finances are looking when that tax return actually comes, though.
