Yipeee!! Spring break is finally here. I signed up to go on a dig with one of my professors (Dr. Blakeslee) near Floydada, TX -- Blanco Canyon. Blakeslee thinks he's found a Coronodo camp site so it will be 16th c. Spanish stuff. It sounds neat, I have never dug at that kind of site. Sometimes I wish I could have the week to just lounge around and work on a paper I have due in April, but I hear from people who have been on the trip prior years it is a very good time. It will also be some good experience for me. I can work on my paper when I get back. Ha, yeah right. When I am down in TX there will be no Internet access, computers and even the cell phone reception is shoddy so don't look for a post for a week or much communication from me at all. Upon my return I will let y'all know how it went.
Also, I should mention that I decided not to move to my own apartment. I called the lady I signed a lease with a few weeks ago and begged her to release me from the obligation. It would be nice to live closer to school, but in the end it just didn't make financial sense for me to live by myself. I would miss Jeremy, too. At first I felt that morally I shouldn't live with Javers. That hung over my head for a while and it still does a bit, but I'm getting over it. I feel good about my choice now.
When we first moved down here it was a bit weird and taxing getting used to each other on a daily basis along with all the stressful transistions in our lives. Now that we are more settled in it's really comforting to have someone to come home to at night (when he's not traveling for work, which is the case about two days out of every week) and share the day's adventures or lack thereof. So for now, my address will remain the same. Come and visit anytime. Remember I got those really nice towels? Yep, they are plush.
p.s. My birthday is on Monday so if you need an excuse to celebrate on a run-of-the-mill-Monday you can use my 25th as a reason AND it will be the first day of Spring too. Rock 'n' roll.

You know, Ber, when you go about 20 days between posts, we quit expecting to hear from you every week. At any rate, I expect you won't read this until you are back home and ready to blog about TX, and who knows how long that will take. If you do get to this in a timely manner, I hope you had fun being dirty and Indiana Jones-y. Remember, he rescued the Cross of Coronado when he was 15, but then the guy with the white hat had his thugs steal it back. If you find the Cross of Coronado, just hang onto it. And don't seek shelter on a circus train, ok?
Remember our trip to the national seashore down there in TX? Ahhh...the gulf. And we forgot to bring our guns. And that old guy thought we were cowboys, and Jeanette sat on a cactus, and I was all wrapped up and feeling sick from sunstroke when my sarong fell off, revealing very old, very zebra-striped underpants. Yep...those were some good times.
